DEAR STRONG WOMEN OF GOD,

I turned 40 this year and have wanted to do a Spartan race (20 obstacles, challenging terrain over 5K) for a long time. After I registered, I quickly realized this was not a goal many of my close friends shared. I was going to have to train with some people who were a little more intense than I was used to. Over the course of several weeks, I exercised with sandbags, did planks with weighted plates on my back, pulled a sled like a reindeer and practiced throwing a spear—all things I would have never done had I not chosen to surround myself with people who were more experienced and driven than myself. Through the process of getting out of my comfort zone, I have become physically stronger and better prepared for what is to come.

The same is true and significantly more important in our relationship with the Lord. As we seek to be stronger spiritually, we must surround ourselves with people who are going to challenge us because they are more experienced and perhaps have encountered some of the obstacles and terrain you are sure to face.

In my time of walking with Jesus, I have always had women in my life who have challenged me to strengthen my prayer life, be persistent in my time alone with the Lord, and inspired me to put the Word of God in my heart. Because of their influence, support, and encouragement, I have been better equipped for challenges I have faced. Sisterhood is all about providing environments for you to grow in your relationship with the Lord. While none of us are perfect, we are all running the race together. As a Sisterhood, we are stronger together. If you don’t already have the kind of community around you that is making you STRONGER, don’t wait. Let us help you find a Sisterhood group today.

STRONG ALONE. STRONGER TOGETHER.

DON’T YOU REALIZE THAT IN A RACE EVERYONE RUNS, BUT ONLY ONE PERSON GETS THE PRIZE? SO RUN TO WIN! ALL ATHLETES ARE DISCIPLINED IN THEIR TRAINING. THEY DO IT TO WIN A PRIZE THAT WILL FADE AWAY, BUT WE DO IT FOR AN ETERNAL PRIZE. SO I RUN WITH PURPOSE IN EVERY STEP. I AM NOT JUST SHADOWBOXING. I DISCIPLINE MY BODY LIKE AN ATHLETE, TRAINING IT TO DO WHAT IT SHOULD. OTHERWISE, I FEAR THAT AFTER PREACHING TO OTHERS I MYSELF MIGHT BE DISQUALIFIED.
