Dear Sisters,
Divorce. Adultery. Addiction. Death. Suicidal thoughts. Financial troubles. Cancer. When the Lord first stirred the word Light for this year’s conference in my heart, I couldn’t have imagined the depth of darkness that so many women in our Sisterhood were encountering on such personal levels. Maybe some of these words have wormed their way into your own story, too—or maybe you’re facing struggles of a different kind. If you are in a heavy, dark season, it can feel painful and frightening, but you are not alone. God is at work in the darkness, shaping you into his image and growing something beautiful within you. He is the light we need to follow.
God remains sovereign. He is still the King on the throne, our Creator, the Light of the World.
We chose Let There Be Light because it carries so many beautiful meanings: it illuminates, it makes things visible, it ignites, it lifts burdens. God is doing all of this—and more—in the hearts of our women this year.
From the very beginning of creation, God brought light into darkness—even before he created the sun on day four. And in heaven, we will only need the light of God.
And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:23 (NLT)
We’re taught plants need sunlight to grow, yet God created fruit-bearing vegetation before the sun even existed. Why? Because everything we need is found in him. The Chosen Conference is an invitation for you to encounter the Light of the World in a fresh and powerful way.
Everything you need for growth and fruitfulness is found in God.
Sisterhood is a place where women come together to comprehend God’s Word with our minds, be convicted in our hearts, and carry his truth out into the world. We are praying that the Lord will produce fruit in and through your life. Let’s invite him to be the light in us, so we can go and be the light in the world.
Love & Light,
Jenna Surratt
